Import Restrictions
Senders should determine import restrictions from the country's authorities before posting:
alcohol
bees
communication, telecommunication equipment
computer components and parts
distilled spirits
leeches
medicines
mineral waters
plants and parts of plants
phones and modems
serums and vaccines
sugarcane.
Prohibited Items
In addition to items considered non-mailable matter, the following are prohibited:
animal products
airline tickets, blank stock
asbestos
antiques
baby comforters not made of pure rubber
baby-feeders
batteries
bullion and currency
coins and medallions resembling legal coinage
conserves with insufficient marks of origin
contraceptives
diamonds
drugs, prescription and non-prescription
film, undeveloped
fish conserves
furs
gambling devices
ivory
jewellery
knives
liquor
military equipment
non-metric weights and measures
precious metals and stones
pornography
tobacco
trademarks, French, false or imitated
trademarks resembling the Red Cross
x-rays.

In addition, commercial goods mailed to Guinea require an invoice. An import permit is required for many goods. Before posting any item, senders should confirm that the addressee has any necessary permit. The sender should provide a Certificate of Origin.
